In the peaceful town of Trenton, Oregon, there were two people named Benny Sandwich and Joe Lectavarien. They appeared to be ordinary people who worked for a board game company but had a secret life. They were spies and detectives for the Department of Defense (DND). They worked undercover to gather information, investigate cases, and keep the country safe.

In the story "Daily Writing 12/28/18," Benny worked as a waiter. One day, while serving tables, he met Joe, whom he knew from high school. They were really good friends and even lived together to save money. Joe worked in the board game industry, but Benny had trouble keeping a job because he was forgetful. The only job he could hold was his stint as a waiter.

Without anyone noticing, Joe and Benny were secretly involved in an organization that solved unreported crimes. They constantly switched jobs and deceived others to keep their operations hidden and stay safe.

In "'Tis the Season," Benny and Joe enjoy a snowy Christmas Eve despite the harsh weather. Benny notices Joe's sadness and learns it's his first year away from home, missing his mother. Benny orchestrates a surprise visit from Joe's mom and their friends, lifting Joe's spirits. They have a heartwarming celebration, reminding Joe of the importance of loved ones during the holidays. Joe expresses gratitude to Benny, realizing the true meaning of Christmas lies in the love of those around him.

Notes

  • No longer a clone.
  • Tennis arc ended; detective arc begun.
  • Romantic relationship with Joe started...? (Though they are written to be "close friends.")
